INTRO TO
JKA BUDO TRAVEL

We, the Japan Karate Association, were taught karate by Gichin Funakoshi Sensei, the founder of the style, and have worked to promote and develop budo karate from Japan to the world. And Funakoshi Sensei’s values as a warrior and karate principles are the same as those of the traditional karate and kobujutsu teachers that have been passed down from generation to generation in Okinawa to this day.

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the spread of karate in mainland Japan. On this occasion, we are planning a martial arts travel that will once again return to the origins of Funakoshi Sensei’s techniques.

The Karate Kaikan is where you can take a tour and learn about the history of karate in Okinawa. And if requested, you can train in a local dojo, focusing on different styles such as Shorin-ryu, which goes back even further to Shotokan and is the inheritor of the Shuri-te techniques.

Local Life Experience: The tour will conclude with a social gathering, meeting the locals, and experiencing the climate, people, and food where karate was born.
