Meitatsu Yagi Sensei was born in 1944 in Naha. He is the eldest son of Meitoku Yagi, and a pioneer of Goju-ryu. He is the chairman of the Okinawa Karate Kobudo Federation. Meitatsu Yagi Sensei has inherited pure Goju-ryu movements, and has many branches in many parts of the world.
